Lumina COURT Unseelie TITLE The Impling OCCUPATION Chocobo Breeder! ABLE TO FAST-TRAVEL Lumina can teleport to all of the major cities at this point, and about half of the minor ones. She is slowly collecting smaller ones when she gets bored. RESIDENCE IN 2,701 A small chocobo ranch on the outsiders of Mair, and her room at Caer Scima. PLANS Large plans for development or activities for the timeskip, etc. SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS Lumina will be working on developing her Chocobo ranch into an actual ranch and not the three-birds-and-a-little-girl that it is right now. With the death of the Jabberwhelp and her attitude being shaken somewhat, she'll also be turning more towards learning how to actually fight, and not just be a little pest. Somewhat. When it amuses her. Her seelie friends may find she isn't speaking to them much, because she's going to finally be pretty pissed at the other side of the war, instead of just not caring. Anyone who is friends with her on the unseelie side can expect to have her drop by at least once a week just to check in and say hi and be a pest. She's not exactly good at being by herself, and the loss of the lockets is going to hit her hard. TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - During the cold spell, Lumina and Lemina will be working to get magical heating set up in Lumina's chocobo ranch. The second round of eggs will be born as well, numbers and colors not yet determined. APRIL - Lumina won't really mind the harp, her emotions are already pretty chaotic. That said, she is going to have a breakdown towards the end of the month that will result in her smashing the harp. Need someone to be around while she breaks down. May - Lumina will be hunting the swans for the cash money! Also people may find her training young chocobos in their magic while she does it! The third set of chocobo eggs will be born this month, numbers and colors not yet determined.. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) June - As people prepare to clean up the Jabberwock stuff, Lumina will basically run away to a boat adventure with the Outsider in order to avoid thinking about it and getting sad again. She will be heading to the tournament in Treun to watch the excitement but won't be fighting! July - Lumina will return from sea adventures! The fourth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born here, numbers and colors to be determined. As the ranch becomes more crowded, Lumina's focus will be mostly on it for the next few months until she adjusts. August - Forest golems in the trees surrounding Lumina's ranch will do some small damage to the ranch and buildings there before being driven off by the chocobos and Lumina and whomever happens to be around. Lumina will be at the festival of light in Leathann! FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) September - Lumina will be at the harvest festival, and probably watching the bread riots with great amusement. The language problems won't change how she speaks (FFXIII doesn't really have languages as a concept) but she won't be able to understand anyone who is not speaking 'English', for the sake of convenience! October SAMHEIN! Lumina may try to talk to the Black Shuck. The Fifth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born this month, however owing to the nature of the month, all eggs will be Black Chocobos. November - Lumina will have some run ins with the escaped prisoners, probably helping to catch them or letting them go depending on her whim, really. WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) December - Yule! Lumina will be getting gifts for all of her friends! She will also attempt to talk to the white hart, rather than hunt it, which may result in an animal transformation? January - Reclaiming her room in the rebuilt Caer Scima, being happy to see the city in one piece again. Shard training with Ganondorf/the shade in exchange for chocobos for his soldiers? February - Lumina will be at the feast, oblivious to the violence towards the elves! The first chocobo clutch of spring will be born, the largest yet as the various chocobos from last year begin to come of age. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) March - Lumina will spend a chunk of the month protecting her ranch from the skeletons, until she's managed to teach her chocobos to kick the creature's skulls off. Several chocobos will be killed, which will have her pretty angry. April - Three of Lumina's imps will go missing! Along with many she is friends with in the court. She will be exceedingly upset and begin searching for them everywhere she can.

Fall 2071: September, October, November

Repair work from the golem attacks will proceed through September, and the ranch is now absolutely abuzz with chocobos in various stages of life, from proud parents to gangling younglings to hatchlings, all flying around curious and excited about the world.

The prisoner escape has Lumina again out in the world with some of her chocobos, teach them to use their magic as they recapture the escaped cons.

In October, perhaps owing to the Black Shuck, all chocobos born will be black chocobos.

November, Hiro: We're off to see the...printer? The wonderful printer of Drabworld...

Lumina had been making sure she had all the books she needed to make copies of in order while Hiro finished that quest he was on before she came to bother him about her plan to get a printing press. There were rumors that someone had one, but she hadn't had much luck tracking it down.

Hiro was more connected to that part of society, hopefully he had figured it out! Which was why she appeared outside of his door in Ariadne's spire, dressed in a long, red winter coat. She would've appeared inside, but after the altercation with Nico and him at Samhain she was still a tad bit skittish around him.

So she knocked. Rap rap rap! "Hey Hiro you in there?"

The nice thing about the quest from Ariadne was the fact that it was a good distraction from everything else that was about to go down in the next several months. After the events of Samhain, Hiro needed a mental time-out to get everything straightened out and decide if he was, in fact, stupid enough to follow through with Shuck's task and go with Nico.

(So far the answer still remained a solid "yes.")

He had just been packing up to leave spire 3 that morning when a knock jarred him out of his thoughts. Even further, the recognizable voice was enough to intrigue him. He and Lumina had been on slightly uneven terms since that night of Samhain where she and Nico were fighting but he wasn't about to ignore her.

He had to make it up to her somehow. Crossing the room and leaving his backpack on the bed, he opened the door.

"You have surprisingly good timing." He lifted an eyebrow, but he was only slightly suspicious. (This time.) "What's up? I was actually getting ready to head back to ten."

"That's because I'm amazing," she said with a little grin as she slipped past him into the room, swinging her own bag off her shoulder. It hit the floor with a heavy 'thump.'

"What's up is that someone promised me a printing press." That would be you, Hiro. "I've got the books I need to copy, so now it's all in your court. You did remember, right Hero?"

"That's always going to be the answer, isn't it?" He didn't even expect an answer as he followed her back into the room, resuming what he'd been originally doing. There were still a few small things to pack but he could do that while he listened to her.

"Oh yeah? What kind of person would promise you that? Sounds like a pretty big deal." His gaze shifted over to glance at her, a grin following as he shoved another book into his bag. "Yeah, yeah, I remember. We've got a long way to go though. Think you're up for the journey? I know exactly where we need to go."

"It's not my fault it's always the right answer," she said as she hopped up to perch on the edge of his desk, watching him packing up.

Lumina gave an over-dramatic sigh at the talk of 'long way to go.' "I don't know, walking is pretty awful Hiro. But I guess I could manage. Somehow."

She'll go get some chocobos probably.

He paused then, giving her a somewhat skeptical look. "I don't know if walking is actually a good idea. We're heading out to the ninth spire. That's pretty far from here, isn't it?"

Please no chocobos. Okay, he'd deal with them if they absolutely had to, but it wouldn't be his first choice.

"Mmm...yeah, that would take forever. Or!" She grinned. "I can get us like, a day away from it. And then we can just ride the rest of the way."

Or walk. If he wanted to be lame.

"That sounds like a much better idea." Even if the idea of riding still wasn't entirely appealing to him. But he's been on wolf-back before. The rest shouldn't be that hard. "I'm ready when you are...if anybody asks, I'll just say it's an extension of the quest."

There was a beat that followed, soon added to another skeptical look. "How'd you know I was here anyway?" He'd genuinely forgotten if he told her or not. The last few weeks had been a blur.

"Okay, we'll swing by the ranch, get you a chocobo, then go!" Lumina hopped back to her feet, going over to scoop up her bag, then holding a hand out to him.

"You said you'd be on a quest near here, I just kind of...guessed. Mostly I came by to drop hopscotch off to play with Ariadne's chocobo." Then found out he was here and went to get her books and came back...

"If the chocobo bucks me off or something, I'm blaming you." With his bag fully packed, he double-checks to make sure he has everything before crossing the room. Unlike the first few times they've done this early on in their friendship, he doesn't even hesitate as he grabs her hand knowing what to expect.

"…chocobo playdates? I should be surprised and somehow I'm not." He shook his head, tilting it toward the door as a means of urging her forward. "Let's go."

"If the chocobo bucks you off, it's probably because you deserved it." She said as she waited for him to finish up, then took his hand.

"Of course chocobo play dates," Lumina grinned. "Besides, they're family. Family should see each other." Plus Hopscotch always got lonely without her brothers and sisters.

They were enveloped in the swirl of magic, cold and dark, and then deposited on the front walk outside of her house. Chocobos were scattered about, farmhands too.

"Do you want to come pick one out?" She asked, tugging him towards the stables.

"Like I'd do anything to be bucked off a chocobo." In truth, he probably would even without realizing it. He rolled his eyes, though not entirely disagreeing. Family should see each other, and he wanted to ask who the other birds went to but that could wait.

The pull of the portal travel barely fazed him now even though he boosted his body temperature a bit to warm himself up. Once they reached the ranch, he looked around as she led him to the stables.

"I don't think I really have a choice," he reminded her, though he wasn't bothered. "How many do you have left?"

October: Jabberwock Quest.

[It had been months of searching, on her own and recruiting others, poking into all the little holes in the world (well, mostly big holes) in search of the elder Jabberwock. The Papawock.]

[In the end though, it was the Outsider that had called her to say he found something. Or something in the ocean found something, she wasn't entirely sure. Which did make sense, it would be much easier to hide in the sea than on land, for something this big. Since he didn't have another set of hills to live under. Probably.]

[When she appeared on the deck of his ship, she was dressed in a long, red winter coat, her hands stuffed into the pockets, her expression a mixture of excitement and just a little bit of wariness. This wasn't the first time she'd gone somewhere on a 'sighting' this year, though none came from anynoe as reliable as him.]

You found him? [She asked immediately, too eager to bother with her usual pleasantries.]

Are you sure? Please be sure.

[ Pleasantries are for other people. The wolfhounds bark happily as Lumina appears, tails wagging as they rush over to greet her. At least they don't try to knock her over while on the ship.

Along the edge of the boat swim several whales, and the Outsider is leaning over the side, looking at them. He's still watching them when Lumina speaks, when he responds. ]

Yes. He has been eating the whales off the coast of Uabhas -- or something matching his description certainly has.

[Lumina pauses to give each of the puppies a friendly scratch hello before she hurries over to the edge of the ship next to him, looking out at the whales. She'd never get tired of looking at whales.]

He's eating whales.

[She can't help but be shocked.]

Jeepers. How big is he...

Massive.

[ Well. Obviously.

The whales seem to greet Lumina, tails and fins and great heads breaking the surface of the water. ]

It makes one wonder what he and the Seelie dragons ate before, when there were many of them.

[The greeting makes her giggle, and she reaches out as if trying to touch them (though they are clearly too far away.)]

I guess...each other, maybe?

Hm. Perhaps.

[ One of the whales surfaces and blows out its blowhole, as if responding to Lumina's reaching. ]

In any case -- the whales tell me of a place that they try to avoid, now. His lair, most likely.

I guess nobody likes to get eaten, huh.

[She giggled, then turned from the railing, hands folding behind her back.]

Sooooo...you can take me there, yeah?

Most likely not.

[ Stomach acid and all that, what a way to go. Plus chewing. ]

Yes, I can. Though it would perhaps be faster if you got us to the islands, and then I could bring us in by sea.

[ Via... whale-back. ]

I hope you don't mean the whole boat 'cause there is no way I can bring this whole thing along.

[She grins and holds out a hand.]
