Lumina COURT Unseelie TITLE The Impling OCCUPATION Chocobo Breeder! ABLE TO FAST-TRAVEL Lumina can teleport to all of the major cities at this point, and about half of the minor ones. She is slowly collecting smaller ones when she gets bored. RESIDENCE IN 2,701 A small chocobo ranch on the outsiders of Mair, and her room at Caer Scima. PLANS Large plans for development or activities for the timeskip, etc. SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS Lumina will be working on developing her Chocobo ranch into an actual ranch and not the three-birds-and-a-little-girl that it is right now. With the death of the Jabberwhelp and her attitude being shaken somewhat, she'll also be turning more towards learning how to actually fight, and not just be a little pest. Somewhat. When it amuses her. Her seelie friends may find she isn't speaking to them much, because she's going to finally be pretty pissed at the other side of the war, instead of just not caring. Anyone who is friends with her on the unseelie side can expect to have her drop by at least once a week just to check in and say hi and be a pest. She's not exactly good at being by herself, and the loss of the lockets is going to hit her hard. TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - During the cold spell, Lumina and Lemina will be working to get magical heating set up in Lumina's chocobo ranch. The second round of eggs will be born as well, numbers and colors not yet determined. APRIL - Lumina won't really mind the harp, her emotions are already pretty chaotic. That said, she is going to have a breakdown towards the end of the month that will result in her smashing the harp. Need someone to be around while she breaks down. May - Lumina will be hunting the swans for the cash money! Also people may find her training young chocobos in their magic while she does it! The third set of chocobo eggs will be born this month, numbers and colors not yet determined.. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) June - As people prepare to clean up the Jabberwock stuff, Lumina will basically run away to a boat adventure with the Outsider in order to avoid thinking about it and getting sad again. She will be heading to the tournament in Treun to watch the excitement but won't be fighting! July - Lumina will return from sea adventures! The fourth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born here, numbers and colors to be determined. As the ranch becomes more crowded, Lumina's focus will be mostly on it for the next few months until she adjusts. August - Forest golems in the trees surrounding Lumina's ranch will do some small damage to the ranch and buildings there before being driven off by the chocobos and Lumina and whomever happens to be around. Lumina will be at the festival of light in Leathann! FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) September - Lumina will be at the harvest festival, and probably watching the bread riots with great amusement. The language problems won't change how she speaks (FFXIII doesn't really have languages as a concept) but she won't be able to understand anyone who is not speaking 'English', for the sake of convenience! October SAMHEIN! Lumina may try to talk to the Black Shuck. The Fifth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born this month, however owing to the nature of the month, all eggs will be Black Chocobos. November - Lumina will have some run ins with the escaped prisoners, probably helping to catch them or letting them go depending on her whim, really. WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) December - Yule! Lumina will be getting gifts for all of her friends! She will also attempt to talk to the white hart, rather than hunt it, which may result in an animal transformation? January - Reclaiming her room in the rebuilt Caer Scima, being happy to see the city in one piece again. Shard training with Ganondorf/the shade in exchange for chocobos for his soldiers? February - Lumina will be at the feast, oblivious to the violence towards the elves! The first chocobo clutch of spring will be born, the largest yet as the various chocobos from last year begin to come of age. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) March - Lumina will spend a chunk of the month protecting her ranch from the skeletons, until she's managed to teach her chocobos to kick the creature's skulls off. Several chocobos will be killed, which will have her pretty angry. April - Three of Lumina's imps will go missing! Along with many she is friends with in the court. She will be exceedingly upset and begin searching for them everywhere she can.

Lumina giggled at her reaction, since that was exactly what she was hoping for. Grell always seemed so low, and who could be low with an adorable baby bird around?

"It's all yours! Though it might be a liiiiittle mad right now cause of the whole getting wrapped up thing..."

"...Are you certain? Really and truthfully, they're my own?"

She didn't even know what type of bird it was, but she could ask in a moment. Lumina's words were true, though, and the little one pecked at her hand when it got too close -- not excessively hard, in any case. She'd give it another moment.

"Yup!" She giggled. "I mean, I hatched it, so it's mine to give away, right?"

She tossed the little bird a look though. "Yeah, sorry about that. Maybe let him out? They can fly when they're little he might feel better then."

Grell nodded quickly and unwrapped it fully. The chocobo, realizing its freedom, flew up and around, eventually settling on the desk and Grell's papers, looking so self satisfied that Grell couldn't help but laugh at it.

"Then thank you, Lumina. I truly mean it." Names would have to come later, once she had felt out the personality enough. "Does he need anything special to eat? Anything I need to know to keep him happy? I've...never had a bird of my own before."

Laughing Grell. Well this was certainly mission accomplished. "Sure! I was pretty sure you'd like it. I gave one to Alice too. And Ariadne!"

Because giving away her birds was clearly the right thing to do, right?

"I've been feeding them seeds and grass and sometimes cookies." Or whatever else. "I haven't found anything they can't eat...Probably not meat?"

"So, the usual things one would think of to feed a bird..."

Ariadne having one made things exponentially easier--it meant that she could bring hers over, no questions asked.

"And warmth? Should their bed be anywhere specific?"

"Lemina helped me set up some magic to keep them warm back at the stables. Uh..." Man, Grell had tough questions. "Keep it inside for now? When it's bigger, you can keep it in the stables like a horse."

"I'll figure out some sort of box for it."

She didn't sound too concerned about it, her eyes still following its movements, still smiling about it. Hopefully it would learn that her work was not a place to settle down, but for a moment she can be indulgent.

A name. It would need a name, once she could discern the gender of it. Not like Ennis, who had so freely given hers.

"They like hay. And pillows. And it's sister keeps sleeping in my shoes." Which was adorable. But weird.

"There were five of them total!" Yes she was really excited. Like a little kid with...well...pets.

"Were they all red? Or were they all unique?" It seems like Lumina to hatch a flock of multicolored birds, really, given her own hair colour and penchant for the unexpected.

"Two were red! One was green, one was black, and one was yellow!" She shrugged. "They can be a bunch more colors but I think yellow parents can only give birth to those colors! My book was kind of vague..."

She grinned. "You get a red one, Alice gets a green one, Ariadne gets a black one."

"I can only hope that this one will get along with Ariadne's. She was kind enough to let me take up a room in her house after everything, so it will be raised there instead of Mair. More room for it to run around, after all."

And the company of other odd animals to keep it happy.

"They got along before, but the stablehands said you can't really tell what animals will be like when they're babies." Lumina was still adjusting to that. "Oh hang on a sec!"

The child suddenly vanished in a swirl of light, and was gone for perhaps three minutes. When she reappeared, she had a little yellow chocobo chick in her hands, a bit smaller than Grells.

"Off you go." She shooed the little chick, and it went fluttering over to flop down next to the green one, chirping a little hello.

The sight of them together got her to laugh again. The red one seemed to greet the yellow with more kindness than it had Grell herself -- admittedly, the yellow chick had not wrapped it up.

"You know, I've never seen birds like them before. At first I thought perhaps it was some sort of odd chicken, but that's definitely wrong if you keep looking at it."

"They are not chickens," Lumina agreed, her voice a little tired. People needed to stop calling them chickens, dang it!

"They're just chocobos. They're not like anything else! That's what makes them special."

And why she was glad she managed to keep them from going extinct.

"Would you tell me about them? As our resident expert, I would be delighted to hear about anything you'd want to tell me about them."

Plus, it would be good to have facts behind her if someone asked about "the red chicken".

Lumina made a 'hmm' noise at that, her head swinging from side to side as she thought about it. "I don't...I mean, I know the stuff in my book, but really, back home, there weren't a lot of them left." She frowned. "Maybe...forty?"

"Those guys were big and friendly and people took care of them. There was a whole ranch for them in the Wildlands."

Which had probably given her the idea.
