Lumina COURT Unseelie TITLE The Impling OCCUPATION Chocobo Breeder! ABLE TO FAST-TRAVEL Lumina can teleport to all of the major cities at this point, and about half of the minor ones. She is slowly collecting smaller ones when she gets bored. RESIDENCE IN 2,701 A small chocobo ranch on the outsiders of Mair, and her room at Caer Scima. PLANS Large plans for development or activities for the timeskip, etc. SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS Lumina will be working on developing her Chocobo ranch into an actual ranch and not the three-birds-and-a-little-girl that it is right now. With the death of the Jabberwhelp and her attitude being shaken somewhat, she'll also be turning more towards learning how to actually fight, and not just be a little pest. Somewhat. When it amuses her. Her seelie friends may find she isn't speaking to them much, because she's going to finally be pretty pissed at the other side of the war, instead of just not caring. Anyone who is friends with her on the unseelie side can expect to have her drop by at least once a week just to check in and say hi and be a pest. She's not exactly good at being by herself, and the loss of the lockets is going to hit her hard. TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - During the cold spell, Lumina and Lemina will be working to get magical heating set up in Lumina's chocobo ranch. The second round of eggs will be born as well, numbers and colors not yet determined. APRIL - Lumina won't really mind the harp, her emotions are already pretty chaotic. That said, she is going to have a breakdown towards the end of the month that will result in her smashing the harp. Need someone to be around while she breaks down. May - Lumina will be hunting the swans for the cash money! Also people may find her training young chocobos in their magic while she does it! The third set of chocobo eggs will be born this month, numbers and colors not yet determined.. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) June - As people prepare to clean up the Jabberwock stuff, Lumina will basically run away to a boat adventure with the Outsider in order to avoid thinking about it and getting sad again. She will be heading to the tournament in Treun to watch the excitement but won't be fighting! July - Lumina will return from sea adventures! The fourth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born here, numbers and colors to be determined. As the ranch becomes more crowded, Lumina's focus will be mostly on it for the next few months until she adjusts. August - Forest golems in the trees surrounding Lumina's ranch will do some small damage to the ranch and buildings there before being driven off by the chocobos and Lumina and whomever happens to be around. Lumina will be at the festival of light in Leathann! FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) September - Lumina will be at the harvest festival, and probably watching the bread riots with great amusement. The language problems won't change how she speaks (FFXIII doesn't really have languages as a concept) but she won't be able to understand anyone who is not speaking 'English', for the sake of convenience! October SAMHEIN! Lumina may try to talk to the Black Shuck. The Fifth clutch of chocobo eggs will be born this month, however owing to the nature of the month, all eggs will be Black Chocobos. November - Lumina will have some run ins with the escaped prisoners, probably helping to catch them or letting them go depending on her whim, really. WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) December - Yule! Lumina will be getting gifts for all of her friends! She will also attempt to talk to the white hart, rather than hunt it, which may result in an animal transformation? January - Reclaiming her room in the rebuilt Caer Scima, being happy to see the city in one piece again. Shard training with Ganondorf/the shade in exchange for chocobos for his soldiers? February - Lumina will be at the feast, oblivious to the violence towards the elves! The first chocobo clutch of spring will be born, the largest yet as the various chocobos from last year begin to come of age. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) March - Lumina will spend a chunk of the month protecting her ranch from the skeletons, until she's managed to teach her chocobos to kick the creature's skulls off. Several chocobos will be killed, which will have her pretty angry. April - Three of Lumina's imps will go missing! Along with many she is friends with in the court. She will be exceedingly upset and begin searching for them everywhere she can.

The big blue bird wasn't hard to charm, after it had decided that Wan wasn't a threat at least, and she happily followed after him as he moved further into the ranch. There were more of them scattered about, and a few babies fluttering in the air, landing on their parents or on fences. It was a rainbow of big birds!

Lumina was perched on one of the fence gates, tossing feed to several little baby birds, and she looked up and grinned at the shouted greeting.

"Hey!" She was friendly, if perhaps a tad suspicious. "You need something?"

Wan lifted his hand to wave as he jogged over, coming to a stop not far from her, "Hi! I just wanted to ask what kind of birds these are."

The blue chocobo following him butted the back before dropping her head down over his shoulder in a clear demand for attention. Which Wan did not mind giving as he continued speaking, "I was traveling on the road and I saw them. I had to find out about them."

Lumina snickered at the chocobo demanding attention, then was temporarily distracted by one of the babies fluttering over to land on her arm. "They're chocobos." She said without taking her eyes off the hatchling.

"You pretty much only find them right here." She said as she let the little bird nip a few seeds from her fingers.

[raavashing]

"Chocobos," he repeated to get the feel of the word. Then he turned to look at the one happily leaning into his hand with her eyes shut and gave a laugh. "You're a chocobo. And here I was thinking you might be related to an ostrichhorse. Too colorful for that, though."

Turning his attention back to the girl, he asked, "You take care of them, then? Is it just you?"

"Oh yeah, it's just me and a huge flock of birds." She rolled her eyes. "Nah. Ganondorf lent me two people. And...I borrowed a couple of the stablehands from Caer Scima after it got wrecked."

She grinned innocently, then pointed towards where some of them were nearby, taking care of another group of the chocobos.

Wan glanced in the direction indicated, shrugging, "It could have been just you and a huge flock of birds. They seem to like you well enough. But I'm glad you have some help. Just one seems like it would be a handful."

There was a 'wark' from the girl Wan was petting he laughed at it, "Being a handful isn't a bad thing."

With the chocobo pacified, he continued to the girl, "I'm Wan. And I'm going to assume you're the one in charge if you're the one who the Lord of Mair lent some workers to. Would it be alright if I stayed a night or two? I can camp near the roads."

"Yup. This is allllll mine." She grinned, hopping down off her perch with a little oof, then turning to peer up at him.

"Hmm." As if trying to decide, she slowly walked in a wide circle around him and the chocobo, her head tilted to the side in thought.

"...What court are you with?" She was guessing Unseelie, but you never know...

[raavashing]

Wan was disappointed that it seemed to matter to her, as much as he understood what he perceived as caution on her part. The attack on Caer Scima was still a recent memory and he knew that most who held allegiance to the Unseelie court would not be kind to those who were of the Seelie.

"I'm not really with a court," he said after a moment's thought. "But my shard is considered Unseelie."

Destroyed her home and killed the Jabberwhelp. Seelie were not Lumina's favorite people for now.

"I used to think like that," she said with a little smirk, and then shrugged. "Sure, you can hang around if you want. You can crash with the stable hands, they're sleeping in one of my extra rooms."

Which was getting pretty crowded..

"I don't mind camping outside," Wan said with a tilt of his head in thanks. He was about to ask about the chocobos when what she said about sleeping arrangements caught his thoughts. Brows scrunching, he looked around the land just to be sure he hadn't imagined the size of it, and then asked, "You don't have separate homes for them? There's so much room, you don't all really need to stay in one house, do you?"

Four people in a single room did seem pretty crowded.

"Your call." Lumina sighed. "Well, it'd be nice, sure, but they're too busy with taking care of the chocobos and I can't exactly a build a house."

"Once I get things more off the ground I was going to hire people."

[raavashing]

Wan was silent for moment before grinning widely, "I can build you a house. It would be completely out of stone, but you could fix it up later. At least then no one would be cramped. Something to repay your hospitality. I could build two or three if you wanted."

The child stopped at that, frowning up at him.

"You're just going to show up at my ranch, and build me buildings. Really?" Her skepticism and her hopefulness were having a fight.

"I mean, that would be great but...why?"

[raavashing]

"Because I have the power to and you don't," he said with a shrug. "They're not going to be as nice as something built from wood, but they can serve as decent foundations for something nicer when you have the time and people for that."

"Probably last longer too." As someone who lived in a five hundred year old city, Lumina appreciated things that last.

"...Alright, deal." A beat. "What do you mean though, power? You don't look that strong."

[raavashing]

Wan shrugged, "Power isn't always physical strength. Where would you like the first house to be? It'll be easier to show you than to explain."

Well now she was curious, but she hadn't given it much thought at all, so she turned in a slow circle to look around the farm. "Probably over this way!"

She led him past a large, fenced in grazing area with a number of chocobos inside it, several of the chicks and the chocobo he'd befriended following after them. Past the house, into an empty stretch of grass backing up against a tree-covered hill.

"How about here?"

"Sure," he answered as he stepped forward into the area and looked it over. The house would probably serve best to be facing the grazing area and away from the tree-covered hills. He paced across the area, counting his steps to make sure he had a good sense of how big the house should be for at least four people to live and sleep in. Something bigger than he had been used to back on the Lion Turtle, but not super big. One story with a decent roof. All stone and earth.

Once he'd paced it a few times, he went to stand next to Lumina and pull his travel pack off his shoulders and pet a few of the chicks while asking them to stay back from where he was working. There was a little protest, but they seemed to understand him well enough. And that left him even more charmed with them.

Wan stood up again, stretched his arms and legs, then turned around with a sudden, very strong stomp and punch, as if he were attacking an invisible opponent. In response, a large rectangular section of the ground lifted up and flipped over. Creating a very clearly defined footprint for where he planned to have the house.

Before continuing, he looked over at Lumina, "Do you think that will be big enough or should I add some more space to the floor?

Lumina was actually quiet as she watched him seemingly planning to get started, wandering around the edge a bit, never really standing still. But when he actually did his trick, her eyes went wide and then she laughed in surprise.

"Alright, that was pretty impressive." She could concede something like that. "And yeah, that should be big enough. I mean...however big you can make it is fine."

Wan opened his mouth, about to say that he could technically make it as big as she wanted with enough time - miles long even - and then shut his mouth, deciding against it. She wasn't looking for a palace, just a comfortable home for her helpers. "Got it," he finally decided was a simple enough answer. "I'll make it a little bigger, then add the walls and roof." Cracking his knuckles and turning back around, he gave another firm stomp to the ground and flipped over a strip of earth on either side of the long edges to widen it a bit. Make it just a little bigger than strictly necessary.

He didn't have the sensitivity he was used to having with the earth, so he had to take more time to really get a feel for the way the stone was settled before the proceeded with the walls. It wouldn't do anyone any good if everything sunk into the ground from the weight because he didn't compensate for earth he was moving to create the walls. He took his time, walking the perimeter of the house twice, then dropping into a horse stance to punch forward to bring the first four walls up. A quick weight shift onto his left foot and a leg sweep brought the internal walls up. And a final punch removed the holes for the doors and windows.

Wan took a deep breath, putting his hands on his hips and taking a break to walk the perimeter again. Once more doing what he could to focus on the earth below the house and make sure everything was stable. He'd managed to move a lot of stone from the bedrock to create the walls. They were only half a foot thick, but they were solid with an even more solid foundation that went all the way down. He wanted to do the same for the roof so that it could withstand the weather. But for the moment he was thinking he'd have to bring it from further out to do it right.

Finding his way to Lumina again, he scratched at his chin, playing with his beard, "I'm going to need to move some stone in from further away to finish this. It'll be a few hours. But I should have the house done by sundown. You'll have to put in whatever is you'll be using for the windows and doors yourself, but the framework will be done. Will that be enough to get me a hot meal?"

Lumina just watched quietly now, her head tilted to the side, taking in what was basically impossible happening before her eyes. Her own world had been fantastical, in a way. But nothing like the things she saw here.

"Hey, take whatever time you need!" She said when he announced his plan. "I can't exactly complain about this, can I?" She turned to look at the house itself. Hmm.

"Maybe we should get the stablehands, they can describe what they want you to build or add to it?" That made sense, right?

[raavashing]

"I don't mind that, but I'm limited to just stone and earth," he replied, crossing his arms and nodding. "I can't do everything. More rooms is easy, doors that swing open aren't."

[chaoticwhimsy]

"Hey, they're clever, I'm sure they can figure out the little details." Lumina grinned, clapping her hands together.

"This is perfect! What other kinds of stuff can you build?"

[raavashing]

Wan scratched his head and thought about, "Probably bigger buildings, paved streets, statues, fountains. Anything that can be carved from stone, I can make. It might take me practice on a lot of those, but... yeah. As long as it's a stone or crystal, I can control and shape it."

Lumina made a 'hmm' sound as she thought this through, looking at him appraisingly. Like he was a new toy, honestly. Poor Wan.

"Paved streets, huh? And fountains and statues and..." She giggled.

"How much practice do you want?"
